In this essay I will be talking about the type of child Felix is, and what I like about Felix. I will also explain my points by using quotes from the book, written by a very popular author Morris Glietzman. Apart from this book (Once), she has also wrote many sequels to this book Such-as: Then, After and Soon, which I am looking forward to reading.
In my opinion my first way of describing Felix is a type of person who looks after other people and tries to stay positive when bad things happen. He narrates that “I’ll move her away from the railway line to somewhere more peaceful.” This quotation refers to being shot by Nazis. At this part of the book Felix, Zelda and Chaya are about to jump out of the Train that’s taking them to the Concentration Camps. I believe Felix could of easily of left Chaya on the track, however he chose to move her next to some Flowers.
I also believe Felix is a confused, little boy at the start of the book, because he always thought that the choices that were made was for a reason it actually wasn’t. A example of this, “there were two reasons Mum and Dad chose this Orphanage, number one because it was the closest and number two because of Mother Minkas goodness.” The real reason they chose this Orphanage was because the Nazis were envading.
Another way of describing Felix is a brave, little boy, especially in the third part and onwards of the book, because he doesn’t seem to show fear and show he is scared about what is to come in the the future. I also know this because when Felix goes to jump out of a moving train he didnt show one bit of emotion towards being scared. Obviously he must of been scared inside, but he does a really good job of not showing this to the point were people realise it.
I also think Felix is determined because in the book he will always mention his parents as a reference of trying to find them, or them to come back to him. I know this because at the very Beginning of chapter 2 Felix beings to say ” Once I stayed awake all night waiting for mum and dad to arrive.” This proves my point that he is determined because he was sure they would come.
Before my conclusion, what I like about Felix is how brave he is. I like this because of he inspirational he is to bad things happening for example when he is starting to realise the chances of him finding his true parents is very slim he keeps fighting and overcomes the challenges that he faces. Felix also shows no fear when he has a challenge, when everyone thinks he is fearless I know he is scared deep down, but just doesn’t show it. That is my main reason as to why I like Felix.
My conclusion is that Felix is a caring positive confused and determined child. I know this because Morris Gleitzman describes Felix in this way.

Use capital letters to mark the beginning and the end of sentences.
Book titles also need capital letters.
PS Morris Gleitzman (e before i) is a man.
